That is part of my initial trouble shooting process. I noticed messages to the effect that the driver is installed successfully or the installed driver is the latest version. I tried a USB WiFi adapter at hand for WiFi abgn and found it work fine. I am still interested in trying an alternate mini PCI WiFi adapter and ordered one from eBay for $6.

Sep 20, 2015 · Anyway, somewhere along the line I ran across a user who suggested that one open the device manager, click network adapters, select the Intel 4965agn, click on the power management tab, and UNCHECK the box that allows windows to shut off the adapter to save power. I can't believe it, but it seems to be working for me. Such a simple fix.
